"Dr. Thomas and his staff have always treated me with the utmost care, I recommend him all the time." – Thomas M.
"Dr. Thomas is a kind, generous, intuitive physicians. He has obvious trust and respect with his staff. For patients those relationships are all important. To have a physician, a specialist, who can meaningfully communicate is key to successful care. Dr. Thomas is talented, skilled, good humored. We are fortunate to have him practicing in Alaska." – Kimberly H.
"He was an awesome surgeon I ever met." – Ely B.
"In November 2014 I was involved in an pedestrian/auto accident that left me with a pelvis fractured in 3 places.   Dr. Thomas made his initial visit to me in the hospital and brought with him an air of calm, but focused interest even though he saw me right after having worked through the night in emergency surgery.  The attending nurses all assured me that he was the best and that he provided excellent patient care and I have to concur with their assessment. My early outpatient appointments were conducted with Kristin J. Fredley, P.A.-C.  She provided very comprehensive care coupled with detailed answers to all of my questions and sprinkled with a big dose of compassion and true interest in me as a person rather than simply another patient.  She took the time to celebrate with me the successes I was having, to help mitigate the fears and questions I was having about the progress I was not making and to collaborate with my offsite physical therapist.  Her support and genuine care was an amazing support to me in some pretty challenging times.  I was really quite sad to transition out of her care. When Dr. Thomas took over my direct care, he always took the time to answer all the questions I had and to provide me with answers to questions I didn't even know I had.  He has such a calm, yet interested demeanor and was always attentive to all my requests or needs.  I really appreciated his gentle yet honest answers and trusted every suggestion he made.  I felt seen, heard and honored as a person in the midst of a significant life transition.  He took the time to be with me in conversation and at times in silence as I processed what he was telling me.   I had nothing but absolutely positive experiences with everyone at AFOC." – Lisa S.
"I lucked out having Dr. Thomas on ED call when I injured myself. I am very conservative when it comes to treatment approaches (in other words, I don't want anybody cutting on me unless there is no other option) and for my injury, his approach was consistent with my wishes and he knew the literature and could explain to me pros and cons of each option. He has a great bedside manner, is warm and welcoming (even when I injured myself for the 3rd time). I have also really loved working with Heather in PT. She is very supportive and I appreciate the variety of exercise and can see the progress." – Dana M.
"On November 26, 2013, I was teaching a gymnastics class, and while demonstrating a twisting flip into the foam pit, I rolled my ankle and landed at the bottom of the foam pit. I heard a loud pop, but figured I just sprained the ankle or tore some ligaments. The next morning my leg was purple, so I hobbled into Anchorage Fracture Orthopedic Clinic for some x-rays.  As I was trying to put my shoe back on, Dr. Thomas came in and went over the x-rays with me and discussed options for surgery to repair the breaks in my ankle. I had broken the condyle of one bone completely off and the other side of my ankle was like a broken picket fence board. As a crossfit athlete and gymnastics coach, I was devastated. I had a powerlifting competition coming up in two weeks and I knew I wasn't going to be doing any competitions for a long time, if ever again. Paige Cripe and the AFOC staff were so helpful and gracious to help me take care of all of the preparations for the surgery, wheeling me down to the surgery center, the lab, and taking care of all of the paperwork for the insurance process. I was in shock and denial and the staff at Anchorage Fracture and Orthopedic Clinic were compassionate, comforting, and answered all of my questions. After surgery, and after three long screws were inserted into my ankle, Dr. Thomas and the staff maintained close contact and follow-up procedures to ensure my healing was going as scheduled. Despite my impatience as an athlete and wanting to push the process, I stuck to the instructions from Dr. Thomas and I am stronger now than I was before the injury. One year later, and I have already competed in a powerlifting meet and won my age group at the Fairbanks Fitness Derby in August, all pain free! Thank you, Dr. Thomas and AFOC staff for your excellent care and service!" - Karen A.
"My experience at Anchorage Fracture and Orthopedic Clinic was very easy and painless. Every person I saw was very helpful and friendly, and they walked me through all of the necessary steps for a speedy recovery. I am happy to say that my broken arm is as good as new, and I am able to enjoy activities like rock climbing!" -- Haley K.
