“Completely satisfied. Dr. Ryan did a beautiful job on my knee replacement, and his warmth and willingness to explain and answer my questions made my experience far better than even I had hoped. I'm looking forward to knee #2 in September!”
– Patricia S.
“Dr Ryan not only educated me on my surgery but did a fantastic job. I've recommended him to several others already.”
– Sharon W.
Dr. Ryan is a very kind, gentle, patient oriented professional. He explained the surgical procedure to my husband and me using X rays and knee replacement mock ups. His explanations were detailed and in layman terms. He answered every question to reassure us prior to the surgery. Afterwards, Dr. Ryan's follow ups have been excellent. I've found him to be very encouraging and helpful during my surgery recovery.
“He is very thorough and explains options for treatment fully.”
– Marilyn L.
“I had total right knee replacement on November 9, 2016. Dr. Ryan was excellent. Prior to the surgery, he explained everything to me and told me that this would be a difficult recovery from this surgery. I was well prepared for the difficulty of this recovery. It has been the most difficult recovery from all of the surgeries I have had. Dr. Ryan took special care to make sure my knee was free from infection before and after surgery. Now after three months, with most of the recovery behind me, I can finally say that the surgery was worth it. I followed Dr. Ryan's suggestions and also the recommendations of my physical therapist. My knee no longer has pain with every step I take. It will take another 9 months for my recovery to be complete. I am grateful for the expert care from Dr. Adrian Ryan and the rest of the staff at Anchorage Fracture and Orthopedic Clinic.”

"Dr. Ryan has been wonderful explaining what can be done to help my knee. I now need to have a knee replacement completed. I am confident that Dr. Ryan will complete that with expert care and surgical skill." – Debbie P.
"Dr. Ryan is an amazing doctor. I am having a total knee done soon. I can't wait to feel better and it will all be thanks to Dr. Ryan." – Kristi B.
"Dr. Ryan got me in right away after my knee MRI. He gave me a shot of cortisone so I could hike the Chilkoot Trail a week later. More will need to be done with it in the future. Unfortunately. He is very professional and a nice guy. He knows his stuff." – Mike D.
"Great doctor, great guy." – Sharm S.
"I was concerned when arriving at the office! But after meeting with the staff and with Dr Ryan, I felt very educated about what was happening with my situation." – Kevin A.
"I had put off a needed surgery for a lot of years. As a result, I needed two surgeries, one in August for my knee, and a hip replacement in Oct. Dr. Ryan always thoroughly explained my conditions, and took my direction by not pushing surgery immediately. He told me I would know when it had to be done, and he was correct. His nurse Carol is also excellent. She gets back to phone calls in a timely manner, helps however she can, and is pleasant. I have had no complications with either surgery, which gives me confidence in Dr. Ryan as well. I very much appreciate the billing department handling all the administrative issues that are involved, including the FMLA paperwork. It is one less thing to worry about, so the patient can focus on healing and therapy. The physical therapy department has also been extremely helpful, and is always pleasant with scheduling, etc. My therapist, Annette is awesome. She is very in tune to the patient needs, and pushes when necessary for the best outcome." -- Dawn K.
"I was seen in a Providence ER in the early hours of 5/10/14. I had fallen and shattered my left wrist requiring an open reduction, which would have to wait until 5/11. The ER physician referred me to Dr. Adrian Ryan for follow up. Even the tech in the ER spoke so highly of Dr. Ryan, so before I even met with him, I already knew to expect a kind, compassionate, and caring individual, not to mention, very highly esteemed by his peers in the healthcare community. From the moment I called the office that Monday morning to schedule an appointment, I was extremely impressed by the efficiency and courtesy of the staff. I was instructed to come in immediately and informed that I would need surgery that same day. Everyone was so wonderful, and Dr. Ryan’s nurse Carol was extremely efficient and reassuring, and expedited the whole surgery scheduling process, which gave me such a sense of confidence and really calmed my fears. I definitely felt that I was in very capable hands. Every single step of the process was very smooth. Dr. Ryan spent a lot of time going over the nature of my injury, what would be done to correct it, and everything I could expect from anesthesia to recovery and beyond. I am still so impressed by everyone, both the clinic and the surgical center staff. I am happy to say that I have recovered wonderfully thanks to the hand therapy and excellent care I received from the Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic team. Thank you so much!! I happily recommend Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic to my friends for all of their orthopedics needs!!" Rhonda C.
"I was diagnosed with thin cartilage in my right knee. The pain was extremely debilitating as well as excruciating. The staff at Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic fixed me up, and I am now back to work. 90% of my pain is gone. I continue therapy and treatments everyday. It will be an ongoing process, but I am very grateful to Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic for taking care of me. The staff was very caring and professional." -- Carlton B.
"I have been seeing the staff at Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic as a patient since 1997. Dr. Ryan has given me two new knees, my right in 1997, and my left in 2011. He also performed a hip replacement for my left hip in 2010, which unfortunately was recalled by the manufacturer only a few years later in 2012. In 2013, Dr. Prevost removed the recalled hip implant and gave me a second new hip. Also in 2013, Dr. Prevost did a total shoulder replacement on my right shoulder. Dr. Prevost then did a total shoulder replacement on my left shoulder in 2014. Not to be outdone, Dr. Peterson repaired significant degradation in my lower lumbar spine to correct severe arthritic and disc damage. He was also able to correct nerve impairment in my right hand in 2014, which was caused by the extensive use of crutches in the past several years. I cannot forget the great PA-C's, who were always there to help me, especially David Wonchala, Glen Welker, and Kimberly Hand. After each of these procedures, I was skillfully guided to a sound recovery by the wonderful staff at the Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic physical therapy offices. Thanks to the able hands and skill of Annette Rohde, Yasmin Lechtenberg, and Holly McClure, I had terrific guidance on how to get back to daily activity. I can't say enough about the caring and kindness each of the nurses and office staff showed in my many visits. The doctors, nurses, physician’s assistants, physical therapists, and office staff are my favorite people. Without them, I have no idea how miserable my life would have been. I can never thank you enough." -- David S.
