Richard D. McEvoy, M.D.

Dr. Richard McEvoy has special interests in arthroscopy, surgery of the knee and shoulder, and sports medicine.

Originally from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis then moved to Stanford University where he completed his surgical internship. After a one-year stint in Anchorage as an emergency physician at the Alaska Hospital (now Alaska Regional), he returned to the Midwest to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis.

Dr. McEvoy is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a clinical instructor for the Alaska Family Practice Residency Program, on the clinical faculty of the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, and an Affiliate Professor/Team Physician for UAA. He is a Commander in the Medical Corps, U.S. Navy Reserve.

Dr. McEvoy has been in Alaska since 1983. He enjoys flying, playing senior hockey, driving his kids around, and fishing. He is married and has two daughters.
